Mudjacking is also known as Slab Jacking, Concrete Lifting, and Slab Leveling.
Mudjacking is a convenient and inexpensive way to lift pool decks, patios, driveways and other structures made of concrete. Mudjacking|Slabjacking is used for filling voids, lifting, and adding additional support to concrete slabs. The process involves pumping a slurry grout, a mixture of water, sand and cement, under the concrete slab, filling all of the voids. The next step involves injecting more grout to lift the concrete slab back to its original level. The injected grout will cure to create a stable fill . Mudjacking is an effective method for raising concrete on porches, decks, patios, walkways, basement and garage floors, and driveways.
For over 35 years GSI has performed reliable, top quality grouting, soil stabilization and foundation support services helping our client for (in the field of) ground improvement and foundation underpinning.
Why You Might Need Mudjacking | Slabjacking
There are a variety of reasons that concrete sinks or settles.
Some of the most common are :
-Soil shrinkage due to drought
-Water penetration through joints softening the sub-grade
-The original concrete was installed on soil that was not compacted properly
Advantages of the Mudjacking Process
- Cost savings. Mudjacking is generally 1/3 to 1/2 the cost of concrete replacement.
- The concrete will not be mismatched, as it would with replacement.
- The process is a more efficient alternative to replacing concrete
Mudjacking is a ‘green’ alternative to replacement. The amount of energy used to produce cement (the main ingredient in concrete replacement) is tremendous. Not only is it a more economical alternative to replacing damaged concrete, it can often be completed in a day or two.
